Why this must be read:
This is one I could have sworn was recced before, but having scoured the archive four times, I have to conclude that my brain's telling me this is one that should have been recced a long time ago. Dani's not a character I ever got into, but Minisinoo made me forget that for the whole time I was reading this. The slow, comfortable pace makes for a delicious and unusual read.
"I never did ask you what that shirt means," I say.
"I don't know."
"You don't know?"
"No." He grins; it's mischievous. "That's what it means -- 'I don't know.'"
Indian humor. It startles a laugh out of me.
