Uninhibited Creatures by Kat Reitz and Tzigane (NC-17)

Hi, I'm Rachel and I'll be your CSI driver for the month of May. I'm mostly a Gil/Greg kind of gal, but I'm fond of pretty much any Gil pairing, any Greg pairing, and I love to top it off with a side of Nick. I'm fond of stories that are plotty, well-written, and well-characterized. I promise lots of fun, quirky pairings as well as my lovely Gil/Greg. Though, I am starting off with Gil/Greg tonight.

Fandom: CSI: LV
Pairing: Gil/Greg
Author's on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] tzi and [livejournal.com profile] zechsy
Author's website: Caffiends Asylum

Why this must be read: Kat Reitz and Tzigane are well-known in the CSI fandom for long stories that almost always have happy endings. They might be twisted happy endings, but they're happy in someway. They also give a fantastic Gil voice and a fantastic Greg voice.

This story is not for everyone. It's definitely on the dark, violent side, but it's also a great story about how someone like Gil would react when he's the one kidnapped. The story starts with Catherine and Warrick's wedding and a drunken confession from Greg to Gil. But on the way home from the wedding, Gil is kidnapped and made to live like a dog. The story follows the team's attempts to find him as well as his own efforts to save himself by helping to stage copycat crime scenes with evidence that will hopefully lead his team to find him.

It's a story about friendship and love and torture and dogs. Take a couple of hours and check it out. You won't be sorry.

Nick leaned his arms on the table, playing with the paper napkin ring between his fingers. "What do you think would help you sleep better?"

"Grissom coming back?" Pretty fucking bleak answer, but Nick couldn't fault him as far as honesty went.

"Rrright," Hodges said, "well, you know, can't bring that one off, so.... what? Ambien? Sex? Tequila? What?"

"Something like that?" Nick suggested hopefully. "Because we've.... been over everything about Grissom, and there's nothing. Except those copycat cases."

That was the disturbing part, those copycat cases, the hairs, the feces, the connection to Grissom when there wasn't any other connection at all. Nick wondered how long it would be before one of them said it out loud, that it had to be Grissom; that there wasn't any other explanation for what was going on except that Grissom had totally flipped his lid.

"Yeah, well. Nothing else seems to be helping a lot." Greg gave them that tired, not-there smile again, and Nick wanted to hit something.

"That's because Grissom's obviously flipped his lid. I mean, he's killing random people and eating dog food and shitting at scenes. That's... really screwed up, Greg, and I think... everyone needs to face the fact that the next time we see Grissom, he's probably going to be in a straight jacket at his arraignment."
