Why this must be read: This is an AU, wherein Toby never went to Oz but meets Chris for the first time on the outside. The setting may not be canon but the characterizations are. This is perhaps one of the few fics that capture the voices of Chris and Toby (another would be Rough Trade bydargie) perfectly. This story takes us through what would have happened to the Chris/Toby relationship if it is taken out of the claustrophobic confines of Oz. Will they still get together? Would it have worked out?
