I should take a minute to introduce myself - I'll be doing recs for January for CSI. I'm almost exclusively a Grissom/Sara shipper, so I'm most familiar with that fanfic, but I'll try to search out other recs for you. If you have any favorites from other pairings, just let me know.

And now on to the rec.

The author summarizes this fic as "Grissom and Sara and 'a beautiful game,'" a reference to a season 2 episode (Primum Non Nocere) in which Grissom refers to baseball as a beautiful game. The entire episode is something of a Holy Grail for Grissom/Sara shippers, but you don't need to see it to get this fic. (though here's a transcript if you're interested)

This fic has a quiet beauty, and manages brilliantly to capture Grissom and Sara's voices and interactions. It's Grissom as mentor and Sara as pupil, but still as equals, and you get the sense that on another level, it's Sara as mentor and Grissom as pupil.

It's also a personal favorite, and a fic I've found myself reading again and again - and I don't even *like* baseball, so that ought to tell you something.

Ah, yeah, I'd already planned on All the Way to Reno, and Cold Comfort was just rec'd on Polyamorous, so I was planning on checking it out. I'll take a look at the others, too. Thanks! I tend to go OTP, and G/C is a really hard sell for me in particular because it's very rare that Sara is handled well and, well, when your POV character is consistently trashed it makes it tough to enjoy the fic. ;)

I'm kind of new to the fandom, too, but I've been reading obsessively since I got hooked. *g* I could rec good fic for every day of the month and still have some left over. So no slacking here!

sigh. i don't know. c/g is my otp, but a lot of people tend to write it really cheesy. i don't really see much in sara/grissom, though i am able to understand sara angst well (but still haven't read much of it at all).

the csi fandom is so vastly different than the fandoms i come from. it's worse, actually. but i like it so much. especially since i'm kind of a badfic addict (sigh).

I think I've just always seen Catherine as way, way too smart to put up with Grissom. I'll buy them in a relationship of convenience, but not a long-term happily-ever-after scenario. Grissom/Sara just rings for me - they're so much alike.

Nice! I've never been rec'd there, but that's probably because my writing style isn't the type they tend to rec. A lot of very, very good fic though.
