Why this must be read:
Going over in my mind the TPM stories that I would most want to recommend to others, I realized that nearly all of them, in one way or another, fall into the BDSM category. Yes, I love BDSM fic, but I hadn't realized that I've been in this fandom almost exclusively to satisfy that kink. But, apparently I have. Which means that January will more or less be Phantom Menace BDSM month - if that's not your cup of tea, I'm afraid I won't have much to offer. But if, on the other hand, you like BDSM in general but aren't familiar with the world of TPM, then I can promise you some amazing new discoveries in the genre.
My first choice, if someone were to ask me for a BDSM rec in any fandom, would always be Lilith Sedai's L'Histoire d'Obi. This remains one of the most powerful stories I've ever read, one of the most naked and beautiful. Paying insufficient attention to a briefing, Obi-Wan accepts a mission without realizing that what he's agreed to is going undercover as Qui-Gon's pleasure slave. What follows is an intense drama where neither master nor apprentice is ever certain of what the other is acting and what he truly feels, where the roles they play become entangled with their undeclared love and desire for each other until what they thought would only be makebelieve becomes desperately, passionately real. The emotional intensity is overwhelming, the psychology complex and the sex among the hottest ever written in the world of slash. This is perfection, pure and simple, a work that deserves more superlatives than I can come up with. So don't take my word for it - go and read it yourself, right now!
