Why this must be read:
This author writes teenage Anakin's voice with surprising and delighting accuracy and wit. The story depicts what Obi-Wan and Anakin's relationship was like before things started to go south, but there is a fantastic realism about it, rather than the blissful idealism many authors engage in; like Anakin says, "Being fifteen is tough."
Things to Work On (Another Idea Of Obi-Wan’s -- Apparently If I Have A List Of Faults In Front Of Me, I’ll Be Intimidated Into Reforming)
1. My temper. It’s a cover for my shame at somehow getting away from myself in class, I guess. It’s completely unprofessional of me, I know. Some bad habits just refuse to die.
2. Accepting THE PROPHECY. Obi-Wan told me to put this on my list. I think it doesn’t belong on my list because, to be frank, I don’t believe anyone has been honest with me about THE PROPHECY. Why blindly accept something that I don’t understand? I should probably amend this item to read: getting Obi-Wan to be honest with me about THE PROPHECY. No, that’s not it either. I don’t think I want to hear the truth (if such a truth exists, as I suspect it does). Not yet, at least. There are some things I’d just rather not know.
3. Learning the Aqualish’s name and apologizing to him.
4. Apologizing to Obi-Wan for being short with him. I compulsively apologize to Obi-Wan, mainly because he’s the only person I would feel terrible knowing I actually upset. He would beat himself up over it, too. He cares too much.
5. Apologize to Obi-Wan for just completely trivializing his personality in that last statement of number 4.
