In the Kitchen, by Sienna Edwards (NC-17)

Fandom: ANDROMEDA
Pairing: Tyr/Harper, Harper/other
Author on LJ: none
Author Website: Sienna's Slash fiction
Why this must be read: I'm recommending this because it hits my kinks. Big time. It's a pre-Andromeda story. Pre-Maru even, set before Harper met up with Beka and escaped to a better life. Harper's survival on Earth through prostitution is arguably canon, as one of the original writers, Zack Stenz, said this about Harper's past:
A realistic "Harper growing up on Earth" prequel would probably be equal parts City of God, Salaam Bombay, and My Own Private Idaho.

In the Kitchen was written before he said that, but I know a lot of us had been thinking it. Harper is young here, but he's still a survivor, doing what he has to do and making the most of it. Tyr is the Tyr was saw in season one, a mercenary, an assassin, a great cook...

And there's blisteringly hot sex and spanking! Oh yes, it hits my kinks.

He remembered his first day here. The prospect of a hot meal and shower, a place to sleep and clean clothes was enticing but he knew what lay just beyond the veneer. It was a nice façade.

He'd lain awake like this every night since he'd arrived, straining to hear the brush of ocean that lay just outside the window.

The ocean had lured him more than anything else. He'd had fantasies of going swimming in that ocean but he'd learned to read people as a kid and he knew that Hayden wasn't the sort to let his pet wander about during the day when he was off corrupting small and large businesses alike. So he'd never asked.

Harper had free run of the suite but that was all. And free was a misnomer if there ever was one because he couldn't leave.
