Revelation in a church, by C. Chris (Gen, R)

Fandom: Highlander
Pairing: none (Methos/Duncan friendship)
Author on LJ: ?
Author's website: Archived on Seventh dimension
Why this must be read:

A nice story to finish my recs? Yes. With a very solid historical background (the kind I love) and a light mood with your favorite Highlander making a (loveable) fool of himself. An original character full of surprises and memories and a Methos who's never present -but always here.

Charming, and well written.

Catherine de Miremont, the Immortal nun, was late, and MacLeod passed the time by imaging Methos' comments about the altar-piece specificallyand saints in general. Unluckyly, the thoughts of saints brought himback to the nun. He asked himself for the one-hundredth time what heshould do if she refused to back away. He had turned this question overand over again in his mind the whole night long and still had found noanswer. True, he had declared that he would not kill an innocent woman, but what if he had to choose between his friend and this woman? He haddone it before, killed a woman to protect Marcus Constantine. But shehad killed Constantine's wife before, a woman who had done nothing but be married and be loved by the wrong man. For this deed alone, Nefertiri would have deserved death according to the rules MacLeod had learned torespect when he was a boy.

I think this may, in fact, be the best thing ever.
