None So Blind by CJ (NC-17)
Fandom: SMALLVILLE
Pairing: Clark Kent/Lex Luthor
Author on LJ:
cjandre
Author Website: The Seraglio
Why this must be read:
This story is a remix of Henry Jones, Jr.'s fic Love Isn't Blind, also a lovely story. I'm reccing this one specifically because I love the way that author chose to remix the story. It still has all the signatures of the original: a gossip-hungry Lois Lane finds out about Clark's relationship with Lex Luthor and snoops around their apartment to find out why Lex would deign to associate with the lowly Clark Kent. However, this story adds an extra layer of meaning to the title by actually making Clark blind. Yes, he's still Superman, and yes the logistics are explained (at least enough to get by). Basically the author is saying that while Clark may be physically blind, Lois is blind in every other way possible.
Plus, there's lots of Lex defending Clark's honor, Lex taking care of Clark, hot sex and voyeurism. It's a can't lose combination.
The man who opened it was not Clark Kent.
He was thinner: clinging black track pants hung off his hips, revealing defined muscles and an intriguing path of red-gold hair stretching down from his bellybutton. He was shirtless, revealing a body that no business suit could fully do justice to. He was bald with a smoothness that could not be achieved by shaving one's head.
He was Lex Luthor.
"Hey, Johnnie, you made good-" He stopped rooting around in his wallet and his eyes traveled up from Lois's pumps to her skirt, to her blouse, to her face, and grinned. "You're not Johnnie."
"You're Lex Luthor!"
The grin fled like it had never been there. "Can I help you?"
"Clark. Clark Kent. Where is he?" She could get a coherent sentence out. She was a reporter, dammit. She had a list of fifteen key questions to ask Lex Luthor if she ever met him, and 'Where is Clark Kent?' wasn't one of them!
