Why this must be read:
PG-13 - see, I told you it wouldn’t be non-stop filth ;)
One of the great joys of fanfic is the opportunity it provides to do justice to all those great secondary characters that are negelected in canon. Martha Kent is criminally underused in Smallville so oftentimes fic writers try to redress the balance. This wonderful fic from acampbell is an outstanding character sketch of our favourite mommy. Without deifying Martha, she nevertheless captures her strength, insight and compassion and the graceful prose has an almost meditative quality. All in all, this piece offers a much more complete and satisfying portrait of Martha than the show ever has.
