Why this must be read:
One of the great stories about Supernatural is how it begins in media res- there are so many stories to be told that the show skips over- before that faithftul night where Mary died, and the years skipped before the Pilot. Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds gives us a wonderful snippet of backstory behind John and Mary and how they came to be; as well as a reminder on why the Impala is ever so important.
