Why this must be read:
Lawrence is my favorite character, and is also seriously unrepresented in the fandom as a whole. Still,
theirishpig seemed to understand this, and wrote a beautiful character-piece about him.
It is an unusual take on what his future might hold. Heavy on the angst, but very real-to-life. And the imagery? Perfect.
Lawrence was sitting at his second floor window, observing the morning world. The trees swayed in the light breeze, the dew on their leaves sparkled in the early sun. There was a nest about halfway up the tree, and it rustled with young, anxious life. Off on the horizon, the clouds were loosing their pink. He could see the mountains quite clearly, even the jagged and smooth peaks. It reminded him of the time he had gone hiking with…his father. That was before his parents split up. Now his only experience with mountains was the view from his windows.
“Fucking mountains,” he muttered to himself, a tear welled up in his eye. “Fucking trees, fucking birds. Nature has no fucking purpose. Just sits there and does nothing while lives are torn apart.” He hung his head. “Fuck.”
