Why this must be read:

I love this story. It's a remix of Ordinary People by Daegaer (recced here), but where that story strays off into original fiction territory, this is a gorgeously elegant and engaging way of bringing it back to the canon. Cimorene is one of the best writers I've ever had the pleasure of reading, full stop, and this is one of my favourites by her. It's everything fic in this fandom should be: funny, light, sweet but not sappy, and with themes that work on all kinds of interesting levels.

My heart belongs, however, to our two main stars, Crowley and Aziraphale. This is one of the stories that reminds me why I love the canon so much, makes me flash back to why I went looking for fanfic in the first place. They are their delightfully occult (or ethereal) selves, and it makes me do flaily hands because wow, they really are that awesome. And even better, it manages to have that characterisation while also including all the other elements I feel GO fic really should: discussion of 'making an effort', the Ritz, drunkenness, and a proper sense of the history that goes along with knowing somebody for six thousand years. Really, I can't rave about it enough, so go off and see for yourself.
