Dear Mr. Mulder by Wombat (PG-13)
Fandom: X-FILES
Pairing: none - possible allusion to Mulder/Krycek
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: Wombat's Fanfiction
Why this must be read: It's hilarious! I rarely enjoy humorous stories in fanfic, for whatever reason, but this one is great. It's told in epistolary form, mostly notes to Mulder from a woman living in Mulder's apartment building and snippets from the residents' newsletter. Wombat does a great job of imagining how Mulder's neighbors might have reacted to all of the various shoot-outs, fights and anomalous incidents that occurred in their building, not to mention the late-night TV and basketball bouncing.
Dear Mr Mulder
There was someone else trying to get into your apartment this morning - a
tall balding gentleman wearing a trenchcoat. Apparently you asked him to
feed your fish too, and you hadn't given him a key either! I told him I'd
given the spare to the man in the leather jacket and he seemed most put out.
Oh well, as long as one of them is feeding your fish, I don't suppose it
matters too much!
