So, um, it's sort of cheating for me to rec this fic, since one usually rec fics that everybody, um, hasn't read. But I figured I can make an exception for this one since it's one of the best recent epic written, and by far the best AU epic ever. Angel and Spike retain their core personalities in this fic, and she does an amazing job building up their rivalry, and their relationship. What she does (or doesn't do)with the other characters in the verse is fascinating and original as well (perhaps most interesting of all is the lack of Buffy in this fic)

Plus the sex is really hot.

Just my opinion, but I think it's good to rec fandom classics if you like them because the LJ Memories are for those new to a fandom, too. I often point people here first, and let them decide what sort of stories appeal to them.

Anyway, for those of us who dip into and out of many fandoms, it's easy for us to miss recent stories. (I hadn't read this one--so for me it was a good choice.)
