Why this must be read:
"Growing Up Too Fast" is unusual in that it feels like an issue in a comic book that simply doesn't exist yet. The story is set several years in the future, after Bart and Kon have become partners, both romantically and in mentoring the new (New) Teen Titans. The Bart/Kon romance feels very real-- two people who are friends just as much as they are lovers-- but never overwhelms the plot of the story. The world and the characters within it feel organically grown from current canon, and there are tantalizing hints of what has happened in the interim. And I absolutely adore her Bart and Kon-- a little bit older and wiser, but definitely still themselves.
