Circles and Semi-Circles by Jess (R)
Fandom: DC COMICS

Why this must be read:
Once upon a time, there was a Robin named Jason Todd, who started out as a street kid who impressed Batman by stealing the tires off the Batmobile. Jason was scrappy, tough, and occasionally a little too headstrong and violent for Batman's tastes. Then the Joker beat Robin to death with a crowbar. The end. (But not really, because then a huge Jason Todd fanboy named Judd Winick became the writer for Batman and got to bring back his favorite character... but that's a different story.)
"Circles and Semi-Circles" is a fascinating, painful riff on the question of what exactly would have happened, had Bruce died at the end of A Death in the Family and Jason survived. Just as dark and violent as a post-DitF Jason-as-Batman should be. And a Tim who has made himself the perfect Robin for Jason is a scary, scary thing.
