Hello! I'll be bringing the Mag 7 crack for the month of November.
One of the greatest - and by greatest, I mean "most amusing" - things about Mag 7 fandom is that there are so many freaking AUs that people actually label canon-verse fics just to avoid confusion. You gotta love a fandom like that. There's the Old West, the ATF-verse, the Little Britches, Runaways, Two Blood, Family Matters, Skip Trace, Street Gang AU, the WWII AU, the Escorts AU and those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. And most of those AUS have OW and ATF versions. There's a Star Trek AU series. It's awesome.
It's a versatile fandom in other ways as well. There are seven male main characters, plus Inez, Casey and Mary, so the pairings are just as wide and varied as you could imagine.
Through November, I'll be trying to give you guys a little bit of everything the fandom has to offer, from gen, het and slash to Old West and Modern day to smarmy fluffy fic and thick, plotty fics. Hope you enjoy being a long for the ride. ^_^

Why this fic must be read:
To start the month off, a long, plotty ATF case-fic that drags the guys through the mud. And then some. Team Seven is sent out on a case that goes very, very wrong. And that's just the beginning.
BMP combines the emotional tension of the situation with the day-to-day monotony of a federal office and the quirky, sometimes dysfunctional humor and interpersonal relationships of the guys themselves, all coming together to create a fic that will have you in tears only pages after making you laugh so hard you couldn't breathe. Whether it's Buck and Vin sitting in a cold, dark hallway because they can't find the words to let each other off the hook, or Ezra's on-going efforts to get himself fired, BMP manages to keep the guys in-character through it all.
Be warned - give yourself a couple hours before you start this one. It's very long, but totally worth it.
Before heading into his office, Travis made an unusual, unscheduled stop in the building's cafeteria, feeling the need for fortification before he faced the task of calling General Larabee. The cafeteria was busy as usual. It was convenient, fairly cheap, and had good food. As a result, many of the agents and other staff in the building usually ended up there at some point during the day.
It was not the breakfast offerings that caught his eye so much as a piece of tasteful linen stationery tacked to a bulletin board filled with employee notices. It was dated Tuesday, and it was easy to read, having been written in 18-point bold face type.
To all concerned:
For reasons that elude me, despite having diligently searched
for and, when necessary, actually contrived justifications to
forcibly remove me from my present employment, it appears
that those same powers are now unwilling to accept my
resignation from said position. Since oral declarations have
fallen on deaf ears and written declarations have been
summarily ignored, I have no recourse but to make public
announcement of my intention to step down from my position
as an agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
I understand that it is customary to make public legal notices in
the local newspaper, but, as I doubt the proclivity of those
most concerned to read said legal section and because despite
slanderous rumors to the contrary, I am not in a financial position
to purchase an advertising space large enough to get their
attention, I am employing this public notice board as a suitable
substitute.
My reasons for this abrupt departure are both personal and
professional. As such, I refuse to elucidate them here for the
benefit of the curious. Those closest to me are already aware
of them. The rest need not concern themselves.
Please note that I consider this resignation to be effective
immediately, with or without consent or approval from the
appropriate chains of command. Naturally, I also hereby rescind
all rights, duties, benefits, obligations, and privileges arising
from said position.

If you have any more of these long gen stories to rec, especially ATF stories, please bring them on.
The Magnificent Seven was one of the first fandoms in which I discovered fan fiction, but I've always found it hard to sort the gems from the large number of not so great stories. So I love to find recs, especially gen recs. I read slash, but I prefer friendships to porn, especially the friendships among these seven damaged, but fascinating men
