Why this must be read: last time I recced Sports Night for

crack_van, I believe I referred to

lordessrenegade as the Great White Hope of SN. Astonishingly, she's still speaking to me. Less astonishingly, she's continued to live up to that promise, producing a steady stream of quality fic – mostly drabbles or linked drabbles, or short fic, but some longer – on a semi-regular basis. Seeing a SN fic cut on her LJ never fails to lift my spirits, because I know that when I click on the link, I'll find something wonderful waiting for me underneath.

Like this: it has angst, it has porn; it has college-age Danny in jeans. It could have been written especially to my specifications. Actually, it sort-of was –

lordessrenegade wrote it for my birthday. They do say that the best presents are made, not bought (though a pony would be nice, too), and this was a marvellous, and most unexpected present. One that I'm happy to share.
