FANDOM OVERVIEW: AI NO KUSABI

thornsilver and I am here to peddle crack introduce you to one of my favorite anime fandoms Ai no Kusabi, usually translated as "Wedge of Interval", which doesn't really make that much sense... O_o Originally a Japanese novel, it was also made into two anime OAV's.
In any case, here is the overview:
CHARACTERS: (Please forgive me for linking, instead of imbedding pictures.)
IASON MINK--Golden blond hair and blue eyes. Top Blondie (which are the ruling class of Tanagura), Elite of the Elite, Favored Son of Jupiter, possibly the lynchpin of Tanagura underworld. Riki's owner.
RAOUL AM--Blond hair and green eyes. Second most important Blondie in Tanagura responsible for memory alteration and brainwashing, Iason's friend.
KATZE--Red hair and red eyes. Iason's employee and his former furniture (body servant), very loyal, despite the facial scar from being punished by him.
JUPITER--Sentient computer and an absolute ruler of Tanagura and Amoi. It maintains only the most minimal number of women to control the population, making homosexual relationships the norm. Its avatar is a beautiful woman.
RIKI--Black hair and black eyes. A young mongrel, former leader of Bison, former lover of Guy, Iason's pet.
GUY--Brown hair and brown eyes. Mongrel, member of Bison and former lover of Riki.
KILLIE--Light brown hair, differently colored eyes. Mongrel, newest member of Bison.
TERMINOLOGY:
AMOI--The Planet
APATIA--A neighborhood of the extremely rich, where pets are often kept.
BLONDIE--Genetically engineered superior humans. Highest caste in the Tanagura's hierarchy. Interestingly enough, engaging in sexual activity is taboo for Blondies. They tend to own the most beautiful pets, but merely watch them "perform" with each other.
BISON--A motorcycle gang from the Ceres. Riki used to be its leader.
CERES--A territory in Tanagura that once rebelled against Jupiter. People who live there are not citizens and have no rights and freedoms. Poverty, crime, and violence abound.
ELITE--Citizens of Tanagura, genetically engineered by Jupiter. They are divided in castes by their hair color. The highest caste is Blondies with golden blond hair. The lower castes are as follows: silver, blue/green, and red.
FURNITURE--Personal servants to the elite. They are attractive, though not sufficiently attractive to be pets. Because their duties often include taking care of pets, they are castrated to prevent attachments.
MONGREL--A person who is produced by natural breeding. Mongrels come in all color flavors, but only mongrels can be born with black hair and black eyes. Mongrels live in Ceres.
PET--Sex slave. Pets are usually bred for beauty and sensuality and extremely pampered. However, once they cease to be attractive to their owner, they tend to end up in brothels. Or worse.
PET RING—A ring-shaped device placed on pet's genitals. Apparently can be harmlessly removed only by the pet's master. It has a locator.
TANAGURA--The city.
PLOT:
Mongrel Riki gets into trouble in Tanagura and is helped by Iason. Riki does not want to be in Blondie's debt, so he offers to repay the favor by his body. Iason is amused by the boy, but he becomes obsessed with him and arranges for Riki to become his pet. Later he also arranges for him to see that he has nothing to return to in Ceres, since Guy repudiates him after finding out that Riki is a pet.
Iason is obsessed with Riki to the point of impropriety. Not only does he keep his low-class pet longer than the normal two-year term, he also has sex with him, even though sex is taboo to Blondies. All in all, Riki is actually a threat to his status, which both Katze and Raoul point out.
Meanwhile Guy decides that Riki needs to be "rescued". He kidnaps his ex-lover and removes his pet ring, something that could only been taken off by castration. Afterwards he mines an old rebel shelter and lures Iason in. Iason loses his composure when he sees the ring and severely injures Guy. At that point, Riki shows up, and the bombs are triggered.
Because of Riki's request, Iason attempts to carry out injured Guy, as well as get himself and his pet out, as the building is blown up around them. Unfortunately he is mortally injured. Riki carries Guy out and then returns to Iason so they can die together.
