Why this must be read:
Pairing one character with a lot of different people is one of those things that's a neat fanfic trick but usually deviates a little from plausibility. Which makes it all the more impressive how perfectly, believably Pam this is. The range of tones is perfect, sweet and awkward and longing and funny and this is one of the best fics to come out of season three so far. Such a delightful read. I can't do it justice.
Pam bites her lip. “He’s kinda cute, isn’t he?”
“Definitely,” Karen agrees, pulling the top off her lipstick. “He’s got that whole sweet mopey puppy thing going on that just makes you want to—”
“Hug him, right?” Pam finishes.
Karen smiles wickedly. “Sure. Okay.”
