A Rose Vine and A Wire Rope by Kadorienne (R)
Fandom: FROM EROICA WITH LOVE
Pairing: Klaus/Dorian
Author on LJ:
mosellegreen
Author Website: Kadorienne's Eroica Fic
Why this must be read:
Klaus has made such a terrible mistake that he's exiled himself to Alaska. I like this story, because it shows some of the ways that Dorian would be so GOOD for Klaus, if only Klaus would let him. The Dorian in this story is also very clever and makes a simple task of out-thinking the distressed Major's attempts to shake him. And bonus! There's also a sequel packed with an interesting action plot.
Sixty seconds later he was at the front desk, demanding of a sullen clerk, "What room is the Earl of Red Gloria staying in?"
The Yank looked at him insolently for a minute before drawling, "We can't give out our guests' room numbers. Security reasons." He paused in satisfaction at Klaus' silent seething before he went on, "But there is a message for you, Mr. Eeberbatch."
Klaus snatched the thick envelope from the idiot without bothering to correct the pronunciation of his name. A foreigner couldn't be expected to know better, after all. He took the envelope to a relatively private corner of the lobby before opening it. The scent of roses had betrayed its giver the instant the clerk had handed it over. Nor was Klaus especially surprised to find a room key inside, along with a short note in a decadently artistic script he had seen too many times.

The sequel is a MUST. The ending makes up for the few shortcoming of the story(s).
