One Bright Day in the Middle of the Night by Te (R, or so)

Why this must be read: I could have filled this month with recs of Te's fic. I could write paragraphs and paragraphs about all the condensed, sculpted, glistening meta this story is so skillfully constructed of. But really? I'm reccing it for Barbara and Renee, and because it made me whoop with joy till I was hoarse. Still, the Barb and Renee show is only part of this fabulous package; have you ever wondered what you get when you split a Timmy down the middle?
Excerpt: Renee is smart and solid and down-to-earth and *solid*. Some part of her would be bored silly... but that part is nowhere around. Barb smiles. "We could start by finding a place with fewer toddlers."
"Sounds good to *me*," Renee says, and slips off the stool, absently patting her side where the shoulder holster is hidden from all the civilians.
Maybe Renee will let her try it on.

I'd quibble with your rating it an R - I'd say NC-17, just for the really scary Batgirl and the swooningly hot Matches. :)
