The Englishman by Meg Tipper (PG-13)

Hi all, I'm [livejournal.com profile] siluria and I'll be driving the Magnificent Seven van this month. I've read a lot, written a little, and found the Mag7 fandom to be one you can get immersed and lost in quite easily. The show is about old west peacekeepers, seven very different men thrown together to protect a town - as the tag line to the show goes "Seven Men. One Destiny." Mag7 is also a fandom that loves its AU's. I don't think I've come across a fandom that's quite so diverse and accepting as this one – anything goes :) My rec's this month will cover gen, slash, old west (OW), and AU's, although they will lean a little preferably towards my favourite character Ezra Standish - the bad boy gambler trying to be good.

Fandom: THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
Pairing: None
Author on LJ: Unknown
Author Website: Standish Tavern
Why this must be read:

I wanted to start with a fic that sums up what I love about the show. Meg is a very good storyteller, and was one of the first authors I came across when I started reading Mag7 fanfic. The Englishman is an Old West story that reads like an episode. There's some wonderful dialogue, great moments between characters, and that underlying stalwart of good vs evil. It's one of those fics I tend to direct people towards if they want to get a feel for Mag7 fanfic.

Go forth and enjoy :)
