The televisions are lit with newscasters and pundits alike. Bartlet takes the White House again. And it’s not really a surprise and they talk and they speculate and there’s a blurb about California and another about dead senators – they never die; they just fade away – and Josh doesn’t really watch. He drinks instead.

There’s a map of America. Red state. Blue state. He chuckles like he’s reading Dr. Seuss.

Girls in red dresses dance and mingle around him. None of them wear blue.
