At the end of Archangel, Duncan ran off crying incoherantly and left Joe and Methos to clean up the mess. This is what happened next.

When Methos laid a hand on his brow, then chest, Joe's skin felt icy. "Damn. You're in shock. And I gave you alcohol! Some doctor I am."

"I figured it was a Victorian cure," Joe joked weakly, then trembled so violently that Methos thought he was convulsing.
