Why this must be read:
Peri is probably better known to some as a superb beta reader rather than a writer, but she is double talented, as Celebration shows. It's a Christmas story, but it isn't not soppy and over-flowing with Christmas goo. It's a lovely story with a mixture of emotions, shows how much Gibbs loves Ducky and what lengths he is prepared to go to in order to keep his beloved happy. There is also a lot of flawless humour in the story, Peri writes humour exceptionally well; a drunk Jimmy, and a visit by Fornell; friendship; affection; romance; plus a very hot bath scene involving Gibbs and Ducky.
His beloved boat never talked, sang or barked; it just lay there letting Gibbs run his hands up and down the beautiful grain, massaging his fingers, healing his soul. He loved the feel of his hands on the boat. It would have been his favorite thing to touch if he didn’t also have Ducky in his life. Running his hands over Ducky’s warm skin was so much better than running them over the boat. Ducky, the one person whose company never bothered him, was coming over tomorrow to spend Christmas Eve with him. He made a mental note to himself to clean up the basement when he finished for the day, or else Ducky would come in tomorrow, notice the fragments, raise one eyebrow and silently look at him, implying that he was wondering if Gibbs was incapable of using the “off” button.
But his peace and quiet was already falling away because now he was hearing footsteps on the floorboards above him. His first thought was, Damn, why didn’t I lock the door for once? but then he recognized the footsteps. He quickly moved over to the broken radio and tried to kick the pieces under the boat, out of sight, before Ducky got downstairs.
Sighing, Gibbs said, “I don’t suppose either of you plan to answer that?”
“It’s your house, my dear,” replied Ducky calmly without looking up and he took another sip.
“You said they made you happy,” Gibbs said, trying not to laugh at the look on Ducky’s face. “And I want you to always be happy.”

And with you adding Tobias and Jimmy into it, especially as they don't get that much 'screen time' in stories, it was extra special.
