Why this must be read: A story told in five vignettes, short but powerful. I love this characterization of Vin and Chris, this unusual take on their relationship: there is so much need and so many things going on under the surface. Also, the author writes a beautiful prose, raw and intense.



It wasn't going to change anything. They'd agreed, after all, in the morning,
while pulling on shorts and jeans and shirts, that a fuck between friends was
just that. Didn't mean they were boyfriends. Or lovers or partners or any
of that shit. Just... friends. Who'd fucked. Like a million friends before them,
and it didn't mean anything, and nothing had changed, and then again, maybe it
did and maybe it had.

I'm so happy to see these vignettes rec'd. They really are beautiful and powerful. Both of them trying to be cavalier about what's between them but the need is almost palpable. Thanks for reminding me of it.
