Obi-Wan's Trials by Anne Higgins (NC-17)

Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon
Author on LJ:
Author Website: Anne Higgins (at angelfire) or the Master Apprentice archive
Why this must be read: I consider this to be an AU to end all AU's *g*. It is what I would really really love to have seen when the "The Phantom Menace" titles came up on the screen. Cause honestly this version is so much better.
As the author herself says: A simple act on Obi-Wan's part changes everything and makes returning to Naboo unnecessary, but the Sith and Anakin Skywalker still must be dealt with.
And wooooo boy, do they ever deal with the problems :)

I admit to having a weakness to stories that aside from being stereotypically OTP, they also try to "fix" the canon in what I would have liked to see on screen.
In this story Anne Higgins manages to hit every single spot, slightly hurt and horribly in love Obi, "force of nature" Qui, a very interesting way of getting Darth Maul into it without having to actually do the scene that any Qui loving fan hates and an Anakin that even me (who have uttered the cry: KILL THE DAMN THING! more times than I can count) likes and accepts to let him go on living or something like that LOL.

So without further waffling I give you: Obi-Wan's Trials by Anne Higgins

I don't usuallyread in this fandom, but how could I resist a rec that promises to deal with all the problems of the movie?

Thanks for the great rec!
