This Shared Discontent by Shunda (PG-13)
Waves briefly and sheepishly. I'm Thea and I'll be your driver for the rest of the month! (I've technically been your driver for the whole month, but the month sort of ran over me and I just came up from under the wheels now).

Why this must be read:
I'm very fond of Shunda's work, even when our perspectives veer slightly. She writes honest portrayals of these characters full of hot, difficult sex and love, with keen insight and a lovely, often poignant turn of phrase.
This particular fic hits my own favorite button which is shared moments in Season 2, when John and Aeryn are both struggling with this life on the run, with their need for each other. It's late nights, and requests that can't be refused, and the way that need can surpass duty, can make you question what you want and why.
John shifted nervously as he considered what next to say, how much to reveal. He gave a little more. "It... won't. It's difficult to close my eyes, to sleep and not dream."
"It's getting worse," she surmised. He wanted to be proud of her; he was proud, because she was putting it together and maybe he wouldn't have to beg her to let him stay.
