Why this must be read: Wing!fic is a very peculiar subgenre in Lotrips fandom - sadly the archive where you could find most of the stories is no longer around. Still, this is the story that got me, with its dreamlike fairy tale atmosphere. Just beautiful.

Billy never let go of Dominic’s hand as they rose into the air, leading him high above the forest behind their home. Dominic laughed as they flew, the sound high and light and full of all the joy he couldn’t contain inside, and he looked to Billy again and again, letting his love show plain on his face. The feeling of being so far above the ground, propelled by his own power (and the reassuring presence of Billy’s firm grip) transcended his happiness to euphoria. He felt like he could hold the moonlight in his hand.
