Galatea, by R.J. Anderson (PG)
Fandom: HOUSE
Pairing: House/Cameron
Author on LJ:
synaesthete7
Author Website: Mystic Wild Parabola
Why this must be read:
Allow me to preface this rec by saying that I am not a House/Cameron shipper. The immediate corollary, that I hate one or both of them or simply the idea of them together unto the point of nausea, is not borne out, however. I like Cameron; I like the potential she has as a character. I like House; I like him even better when he's all-knowing and sarcastic and yet those who know him can still bring him down a peg. What I like best, then, is when Cameron is written as someone who knows her weaknesses and decides to take charge and grow up a little; when House is written as a guy who's not sure what he wants until he figures it out on his own; and when, together, they're written without sappiness or anything resembling first names or spawn.
After all, this is romance, written House-style.
