Dark Enclosures by Leah (NC-17)
Fandom: X-Men Movieverse
Pairing: Scott/Kitty
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: unknown
Why this must be read: If you have issues with Logan/Marie not being cannon, then just keep right on going, because the pairing of Scott/Kitty has absolutely no basis in moviverse cannon, much less comicverse cannon!
As I’ve stated earlier, I’m not one of those Jean-bashing Logan/Marie shippers, and I like stories that pair Scott and Jean together. However, I really like the Scott/Kitty pairing. I suppose this is possible because there are some similarities between the idea of Scott/Kitty and Logan/Marie, the most obvious being the age difference.
The pairing evolved in a particular sect of the Logan/Marie fandom and while it is not very common in the fandom at large, it does have a following with that group. (I believe another pairing to evolve from that same group is Remy/Jubilee.) It is, however, an extremely hard paring to write. (I’ve tried, and the story just turned out to be a 150-word drabble!)
Leah explains why in her author notes for the story: “Though Scott is Logan’s opposite, there are a lot of similarities between S/K and L/M. One of them is, of course, the age issue. But I didn’t want it to turn out like a L/M and that’s where I kind of stalled. I didn’t realize it would be that hard.... It took me a long time to figure out Scott and Kitty’s individual identities I just hope I was able to show their unique characteristics and weave them into a unique story of their own.”
I think she did an excellent job. She does a great job of showing Scott’s angst over the age issue and how he is able to get past it (with a little help from Logan) . Plus, it’s got great smut at the end!
A great story for a relatively unknown pairing that is true to the characteristics of all of the major X-Men portrayed in it!

They're in my memories section down at the bottom there. Although since I haven't been reading Rogue/Logan very long you've probably already read everything I mention!:D
