Alignment by Lar (PG-13)
Fandom: ANGEL
Pairing: Faith and Wesley - it could be the beginning of 'shippyness or not, as you please.
Author's website: Obsessed Much
Author on LJ:

Why this must be read:
At the end of S1 of Angel, Faith is settling into prison, with the help of some periodic visits from Angel. While the show, for those pesky real life reasons, couldn't continue to show their visits, it was generally presumed that they became a semi-regular thing. (Well, at least until Angel hit his "beige" period.) There's a lot of healing to happen between the two of them - but there's other people Faith needs to reconcile with.
Lar sets up a visiting day that Angel (due to Darla-induced dreaming) can't make - and Wesley feels obliged to go in his place. Faith and Wesley haven't seen each other since she tied him to a chair and tortured him, and they're both in a period of figuring out who they are and who they want to be. They find a surprising kinship, and somehow settle with each other more - and more quickly - than either of them would've expected. It's simple, but insightful, and sweetly touching, while not shying from the painful, difficult after-effects of their history.
