Why this must be read:
Hi there - I'll be doing your Stargate recs for the month of February. My reading in the fandom is almost all J/D and gen, so that's what you're going to be getting - all due apologies to the other pairings in the fandom. (Well, there's that one story... never mind. We'll get there when we get there.)
All but one of my recs will be stories by authors who haven't previously appeared here. This story is the exception, because as far as I know it's only appeared on Tripoli's lj and thus it's not like any of y'all are likely to find it on your own.
Tripoli's great gift, or anyway what I react most strongly to in her writing, is the ability to say something in a way that goes straight to the heart of things. A little more than half the time she goes to the heart of things carrying a knife, but, well, it's a dangerous universe out there. This story - which consists of one hundred and forty-nine words, not counting the title - is one of those times.
...he isn't thinking anything in particular, and if he were, it might be that contentment could creep up on you when you weren't looking.
