Pairing: Munch/Kay(Told you. Though I promise before the month is out, I'll rec some other things.)
Summary: An introspective(but still consistent, bravo!) Munch reflects on the changed nature of his relationship to Kay, and the death of Gordon Pratt.
Why this must be read: My friend once compared fanfiction.net to a giant bazaar that you have to pick through to find the good stuff. To extend that metaphor out even further, this little story is like a picture frame you pick up for a song and then find out is worth a lot on Antiques Roadshow. (The fact that it plays into some of my current fanfiction preoccupations:first person Munch and the Pratt murder, is only part of the attraction...although I'd love to talk to Aphreal about What Kay Knew and When She Knew It sometime) but it's the narrative voice that grabs hold from the first, playing up the underlying softness in Munch without softening him out of recognition.
