Deconstructing the Text by Argyle [R]
Fandom: HOUSE, M.D.
Pairing: House/Wilson
Author on LJ:
sockitup
Why this must be read:
Set somewhere towards the end of season two, Wilson tries to get House to go to a bookstore party-- why?! House doesn't know but he wants to. And thus is the set-up for a fic that has its share of the funny, the witty, the hits-all-the-right-places arguments, and overall lovely build-up to slash. The "They Figure It Out" trope isn't exactly new to House fandom, but "Deconstruscting the Text" does it with style. One of the best of the genre!
"You were unusually nice," Wilson observed.
"Was there a reason that I shouldn't have been?" House asked, turning towards him.
"Your utter loathing of being here?" Wilson said, almost... hopefully. House's eyes narrowed.
"Wait," he said, slowly starting to smile. "Are you counting on me to be a bastard?"
"No," Wilson said, after just slightly too long a pause. "Of course not."
