Heartbreaking, but completely in character, this fic takes a look at Scott and how he never quite manages to recover from the events of X-2. Although this is slightly AU (and uses heavy comic cannon to fill in some gaps), this story really explains how the calm, cool, collected, together, team-leader Cyclops could disintegrate into the man we saw at the beginning of X-3. What's more, this fic allows you to forgive him for it.

The writing is sharp and brilliant and just fan-damn-tastic. I highly recommend that everyone seeing this hurry over there and tell musamea how good this story is. Because it really is.
