Why this vid kicks ass:
Thandie has made several wonderful X-Files vids, but Kinda I Want To is probably the one that thrills me most. It's a fast-paced, hard-hitting, gorgeously cut vid, and it captures the essence of the Mulder/Krycek pairing in a way that just floors me. There is an almost excessive use of zoom effects here, but they serve beautifully to bring across the extreme level of Fox and Alex's mutual obsession so that you not only understand it, but feel it in your gut. This is Mulder and Krycek as I've always seen them, mesmerized by each other in spite of knowing better, torn between conflicting impulses of loathing and need, governed by a compulsive desire to get under each other's skin any way they can. To paraphrase the song - it's not right, and it's not good, but it's what they can't help wanting. And Thandie shows us that want with delicious skill.
