Because the series never showed properly the fallout from the mess Tritter made out of House's and Wilson's lives, many fans have tried their hand at exploring that dynamic. "A Foreign Currency" is a brief yet strong showing of how they might have reacted to each other's decisions/actions during the Tritter investigation. Raw, hurtful, mutually self-depricating, and so very much in character.

"You gone, or not?," queried Wilson, softly. "Gonna stay, okay, stay. Sit." Wilson's chuckle came out almost as desperation, his hand falling gently on the mattress to his right. "Bet your leg hurts. Rest of th' scnhapps, that'd make it stop a while. I'll share. Always share my stuff with you."

"Including your life, you imbecile?" House perched on the opposite side of the bed, staring at this strange phenomenon, wondering how much information he could get while Wilson was in this unusual state. It had been years since he'd seen Wilson really let go and get completely smashed. "I don't know what's wrong with you," he said, scowling as he poked at Wilson's ribs with his cane. "How long before you figure out I'm not worth it?"

"Oh, jus' shut up, House. You're ruinin' my happy drunk hour."
