Something else you'll note as we go along this month, is my great passion for apocalyptic fic and long fics. But the length is always worth it and the end isn't always sad.

Mesabi Ferrum is one of my favorite fics because it is so real--so canon-based. Most fans are still slightly annoyed with the way Chris Carter ended nine years of greatness. This fic is the answer to everything he didn't answer. This is my canon ending; the way the show should have ended, or what should happen if we ever get a true ending movie.

Zoonr gives us a great relationship between Mulder and Scully; a little stale and cold, on the run, and in desperate search for their son. We see the "end" come, all the plans CC laid out for us fans. We meet William and his adopted parents and what his role is and becomes. We're guided by past characters that CC left unexplained.

All in all, it's one fabulous (long) fic. You can read it in chapter form or as whole text on her site.

This was such a wonderful fic, and one I never read before now, as it came out after I'd kind of moved on from the X Files, disappointed by the final seasons. This fic so neatly and wonderfully tied in and up ends left hanging, and I feel better about the future of Mulder and Scully post-canon now that I've read it.
