On love and annoyance...
Item the first: February is the month of lurve, and of chocolates and roses, and their cyber-equivalents! Let’s give our volunteer reccers a hint at our hearts’ desire.
[Poll #243696]
Item the second: You may not be aware that we limit our volunteers on the number of fic recs they can post each month. The reason for this is two-fold: to ensure the longevity of the community and to limit friends-list spammage (with 38 current fandoms, unlimited recs could quickly get out of hand). To date, on average, there are 7.4
crack_van posts per day, though some days the volume is quite a lot higher than that, and I understand there may be some frustration with lack of cut-tags here.
[Poll #243697]
And speaking of those rec limits…
[Poll #243698]
Thanks for playing! And don’t forget to read my Smallville recs this month! Participation is mandatory!!

Re:
Re # of recs allowed: it's in the welcome email philtre and I send out each month, but we had our wires crossed and different limits have been communicated to different fandoms. Looks like we'll probably split the difference and limit people to 12 per month. It's more a guideline really; I'm not going to spaz if someone occasionally goes over. But, like in October when we first started, and had no established limits, velvetglove would have rec'd 30 fics if I'd let her. That's just too much, IMO, so yeah, we do have limits.
Re:
I'm too lazy to make that many recs anyhoo. But I am dutifully reading away to make sure I rec as many as I can.

Re:
BTW, I finished that looong fic you rec'd a few days ago - Tissue of Silver, I think? I wasn't sure at first - it started a little slow - but it just got better and better until I couldn't put it down. Very nice.

Recently there have been a couple of rec that were just about a full screen for one rec. While I applaud the enthusiasm and... volubility of the person making the rec - a little TMI for me and the very thing that keeps me from wanting to add crack_van to my friends page.

I love this place - I've read in fandoms that florished before I discovered fanfiction, I've read pairings I'd never looked at. Hours and hours of entertainment has been provided.
Re:
I'm the same way. If I had enough time there's probably a dozen fandoms I'd read everything that got posted in, some of them way before my time, but I had to cut back for my own sanity. Now I'm reading in just 3 or 4 regularly.
Thanks for the feedback!!
