So this is yet another AMAZING long fic. This will keep you occupied for a few days at least. But it is worth every moment. I'm sure it's often said on here, "oh, I can't believe this has never been recced!" but in this case, I am truly astonished it hasn't.

Bardsmaid weaves such a fabulous tale. It is full of intrigue, love, hope, conspiracy, and understanding. She writes not just some of the best original characters ever, but the best original female character I have ever read in any fandom.

In addition to the original characters, the development of M&S's relationship is incredibly realistic. Though it departs from the show at the beginning of the sixth season, the way the two come and establish their relationship is very canon-like. And Krycek in this story is well-rounded. He's not just bad, not just for himself. He's complicated and ruthless and giving, bitter, but human. And finally, her characterization of our friend, CSM, is spot on.

What if, after 'The Beginning', Mulder were dismissed from the Bureau on trumped-up charges of having had contact with the X-files? What would he do? How would Scully fare on a reassignment? And what would happen if a case she was assigned to came uncomfortably close to exposing the Smoking Man's trump card?

Thanks so very much for recommending my series, mf_luder. I can't tell you how often people have told me that 'you're the best kept secret in fanfic.' Unfortunately, years after I started writing, they're still saying it! Writing the S trilogy was an incredible experience for me, so it's always extremely gratifying to find that others have enjoyed making the journey, too.

And there's a sequel in the works! You have no idea how excited by this I am. I read in on of the yahoo comm emails that you were continuing with the backstory and working towards Topaz. I can't wait for it to be complete so I can continue reading your wonderful universe.
