Hi, I'm birggitt, and I'll be driving the Sherlock Holmes Van this month.
You must be aware, as I'm a happy, old, unrepentant slasher, it's quite likely all my recs ending being slash. I'll do my best to rec some gen fics, just, you know... slasher...

Why this must be read:
Because is a long, anguish, beautifully wrote story. A love story, indeed, but not a romantic, full of kisses and hugs kind of story. Is harsh, almost painful, dryly realistic.
A story told from both, Sherlock and Watson POV's, with all their doubts, fears, self-loathing and regrets.
Sherlock's voice is quite...unusual, and yet, strangely, very accurate and fitting. You'll be drawn for it, you'll believe it.
What else you need in a story?

It's amazing. I happened upon it while scouring the internets for H/W I hadn't yet read - and you know you're desperate for a pairing fix when you're looking in The Pit - and it just blew my mind. Somewhere around the bit with the photos of young!Sherlock I started sobbing. ^_^

Hope you're going to recc the drabble series too..?

Oh, yes, The Pit, LOL! I NEVER look for anything there, yet, there are some unexpected jewels there. I found this one because a friend pointed it to me =D. And yes, they're so unhappy, aren't they?
I'm not sure about the drabbles, though, as I only have 12 stories to rec, and I'm trying to be as wide as I can, showing different styles and authors to spread the H/W love =D

I got sick at the end of last month and didn't get my slash recs up. You're right that you can find some good ones on Fan Fiction -- there are also a few on AFF I lke.

Keep the recs coming! Now that I've shown the types of stuff out there, we can all concentrate on slash. :)

I love to do it, I love this fandom so much, I've adored it since I was a kid and read all those wonderful books. Of course, some... nuances, only became clear later. And Jeremy Brett? He did a lot to make me understand =D
The recs are all waiting to show up, but I don't want piled all them in the firsts days.
