Straightness by JS Cavalcante (NC-17)

Fandom: Due South
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Author on LJ: [personal profile] j_s_cavalcante
Author Website: n/a
Why this must be read:

I'm a sucker for stories in which Ray has a tough time coming to terms with being attracted to Fraser, and this particuar fic has an added bonus of one of the best first lines I've ever read, period:

Fraser gives it to Ray a half-inch at a time, so slowly that Ray's maybe going to die of waiting.

*Guh.* (The fact that the first line is immediately followed by a scorchingly hot sex scene doesn't hurt either.)

From there, we find out how Fraser and Ray ended up in bed together and *then* they manage to have the 'are you actually gay?' talk. Heh. It's wonderfully messed up and totally Due South.

Straightness pt. 1
Straightness pt. 2

Thanks for the two [livejournal.com profile] j_s_cavalcante fics - both "Straightness" and "Dark is a Way and Light is a Place" are terrific stories. I've had the great pleasure to beta for JS on a few occasions, and she's great to work with. She puts a tremendous amount of work into her stories and you're right to point out the literary merits of her work. Thanks for shining a spotlight on one of the great talents in the fandom, and I'm really looking forward to your month on [livejournal.com profile] crack_van duty!

I'm not sure why JS doesn't archive, but a lot of us here on LJ don't (and I know, I know, it's BAD. We should all be putting out stuff up at the DSA and dueslash.) I think JS has been making noises about putting together some kind of website, and I'm sure we'll be able to harass her into it someday. Thanks for the reminder about the importance of archiving.

Um I'm getting 403 error forbidden. Is it me?

Not you! Just, my LJ is now f-locked against spambots. I am working on archiving everything, but it's slow going. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. You should be able to access my fic now.

Hi Jane! Thanks for the recs and the heads-up that a reader wanted in. I think I've answered this question in private correspondence to you, but I'll post the answer here, too, since unanswered questions make me sad. :)

I am ALL FOR archiving, but the archives that we had until recently didn't allow editing. When I find errors, I want to fix them! :) Also, neither of the archives was even functioning properly at the time. Since the dueSlash archive (http://www.dueslash.com/new/index.php) has been updated and now allows editing, I have started uploading my fic there, and I intend to upload it all there as soon as I can. Probably will also upload to the OTW archive as well.

Anyway, I will friend any fan of appropriate age to read adult material; they have only to come to the sticky post at the top of my LJ and ask.

It's ok. I totally understand.
Thank you for replying!
