This is a great look at Ando and his place in the grand scheme of things. It's also interesting to see how he views his relationship with Hiro, as well as the dynamics between them and the Petrelli brothers. Written before "Distractions."

Ando is not a hero. He knows about these things. Not as much as Hiro, but enough. Heroes are always at the center of things. They always do what is right. They make great sacrifices. Ando is never at the center of things. He used to try, but he eventually learned that some people were meant to fade into background. And he’s not big on sacrifice either.

Lately, he’s been thinking a lot about home, about safety, and about how adventures seem great in comics and in movies, but not so much in real life. And honestly, Ando had never thought that adventures looked so great in the movies either. The heroes always got hurt and by the end they looked so tired and dirty that Ando had always wondered if being a hero was really worth it in the end.
