Love's Mysteries by Pat Nussman (PG-13)
Fandom: STAR WARS
Pairing: Han/Leia
Author on LJ: none known
Author Website: Some of her SW fic is archived at The Corellian Embassy, but there is no search-by-author function there and she has no website that I know of. Her non-SW fic can be found here.
Why this must be read:
There are a lot of stories that look at Han and Leia's relationship arc throughout the Empire Strikes Back, particularly ones that fill in just what all happened on the trip from Hoth to Bespin. This is one of the best. It shows Leia and Han in all their complexities, and it manages to flesh out Chewie and General Riekan nicely.
The Star Wars fandom's been around for a long time, since before the internet. Print zines (fanzines) were the primary means of sharing fanfic at the time the movies first came out, and for many years thereafter. Some excellent fic was printed that way, though it can be hard to find online, and I would be remiss if I ignored them while driving this van.
First published in Kessel Run #2 (1982), Love's Mysteries is a classsic. (Yes, despite its cheezy title.) It was even reprinted (in Alliance and Empire #2 in 1994), an honor few stories merit. Note that it was written before Return of the Jedi came out.
