Hello riders! I’m
ivorykiss and I’m your Smallville
crack_van driver for this month. SV fandom is wide and varied from ‘ships to styles, the fic this fandom produced, and still does, thank the gods!, something for everyone, from laugh out loud cracky fic to dirty!bad!wrong!
Fair warning! Most of my recs this month fall into a darker category. I like stories that provoke emotions, be it happy or creepy or angsty or that sucker punch to the gut.
*starts the van*
Hold on people, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride!
Also, gentle readers, feed the authors, remember feedback is a terrible thing to keep to yourself!

Let's start out with some dirty!bad!wrong!
Fandom: SMALLVILLE
Pairing: Martha/Suprise Pairing
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: Words
Why this must be read:
A post Exodus fic, that draws you in whether you want it to or not. Totally believable, totally creepy and the last couple of paragraphs just hurt.

Probably not, but that's kinda like saying most crack_van subscribers aren't Starsky and Hutch fans either.
So a description of a fic as "post Exodus," or post any other episode, is far too vague to provide any meaningful summary or reason to read.
Though it would be fantastic if my humble recs could
seducedraw a new SV fan in, I'm driving with the assumption that if you're hopping in this van, you have at least a vague knowledge of SV, it's characters and it's timeline. Why else would you flag down that particular van?

Well, I like to branch out into new fandoms. And I like good fic. So I read the descriptions of almost every story, regardless of whether or not I'm familiar with the fandom, to see if it sounds interesting. To extend the metaphor, I like to take fandoms for a test-drive.
I happen to be a casual SV fan; I read SV fanfic on a regular basis, and am pretty familiar with the regular characters and have a vague idea of what happened when. Do I have any idea what happened in the episode Exodus? None whatsoever.
It's great that you're reccing, I appreciate it. But you should be aware that not everyone who is interested is as intimately familiar with the show and its fandom as you are.

I, too, love good fic, obviously, or I wouldn't be reccing. Some of my recs will be short, some long and gushing, it'll just depend upon my mood that day when I start up the van. :)
It was never my intention to do a disservice to the casual SV fan by my 'style' of driving. I do hope you'll stay for the bumpy ride. :)
