Why this must be read: This is what could have happened in Season 2 if everyone had just taken their heads out their asses for a little bit. The characterization in this story is fabulous. Ryan is at his flirty, sexy, evil best. Beecher is crazy and conniving, just the way I like him (except when he's acting like a slut, that's fun too). And Alvarez, my sweet sweet Alvarez, is absolutely brilliant. Somewhere along the line, Alvarez became my favorite character on Oz and he gets short changed a bit in fic, so it's a real pleasure to see him here scheming with the best of them. And yes, Keller is as hot and as fabulous as always. This story is just plain fun. Watch the boys scheme, watch the boys dance, who comes out on top? Who the fuck cares? It's not the end that matters, it's watching them get there.
