Apart from What We Wish and What We Fear by Elyn Ross (NC-17)
Fandom: DC COMICS
Pairing: Bruce Wayne/Dick Grayson (Batman/Nightwing); Dick Grayson/Barbara Gordon
Author on LJ:
elynross
Author Website: The Principality of Whimsy
Why this must be read:
It takes a bit of work for me to believe in Bruce/Dick, not that I don't think they love each other, but Bruce--Batman--isn't a easy person to love. However, Elyn does a fantastic job of making me believe this could have happened in some reality. This Bruce and this adult Dick interact in ways that feel real, and speak and react in character.
The love making is full of passion, a hint of power play that is just right, and the emotions are as fraught and angsty as one would expect given the pair's long history. Alfred is wonderful in this, and I have no qualms about rec'ing this story to even the most reluctant of readers of this pairing.
One aspect of this story that I really appreciate is how Dick's relationship with and love for Barbara isn't glossed over, and the way she reacts to this change in their relationship is realistic.
